The core idea of Quadrilateral Cowboy is something that intrigued me; using a “deck” you would infiltrate high security offices, in a bit of a grim dystopia and try to aquire information or get to a certain room in a building, then leave. Disabling devices, figuring out puzzles and the like along the way.
In practice I just banged my head against the first few levels until I ran out of fun to be had anymore. In the first level it wasn’t too bad, my clumsy attempts at getting a pneumatic tube go through a length of pipe only got me time penalties (I really struggled getting the timing you needed to shut down both lasers for the right 3-second interval), but then these mistakes turned fatal in the second level and I really couldn’t progress anymore.
I gave this game a fair shot, but either there was something considerably core to the experience that I missed, or I just didn’t have the coordination to perform the very simple requests it asked of me. In any case I had to drop it pretty fast. Love the style tho!
